Barons de Rothschild Blanc de Blancs

A Blanc de Blancs Champagne from Maison Barons de Rothschild, made entirely from Chardonnay at 12% ABV, much of it from Grand Cru plots in Le Mesnil sur Oger and Premier Cru Vertus on the Côte des Blancs. It ages a minimum of four years on the lees before release, the kind of patience that gives Champagne its depth.

The nose is delicate, lemon zest, orchard plum, and fresh garden herbs, with a yeasty note underneath. On the palate, creamy foam and refreshing acidity lead into a lean, harmonious green apple finish. Falstaff's tasting panel scored it 90 points. A fitting pour for a toast, or any night that deserves real Champagne.
